Job Description:
As an analog IC design engineer, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of integrated circuits in SOI, FINFET, BiCMOS, SiGe, and CMOS technologies. Typical circuitry to be developed will include commercial and radiation-hardened by design phase locked loops, analog to digital converters, digital to analog converters, input/output transceivers, digital logic design, volatile and non-volatile memories. To be successful in this role, you should be fully capable of top-level die development, tapeout, and product ownership and have a strong knowledge of design flow and ESD best practices. In this role, you may be interacting with designers from multiple sites with occasional travel.
Essential Duties and Qualifications:
Analysis
- Verify designs using circuit-level and behavioral-level simulators.
- Characterizing and validating circuit performance in the lab.
- Create detailed design documentation and reports.
- Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to improve designs.

- Design
- Simulation
- Layout verification
- Characterization
- Release to production of integrated circuits
Development
- Support product definition teams to develop product requirements and specifications.
- Work with program teams, including other engineering disciplines and program management, to develop design concepts, define and perform trades, develop performance models, and decompose and flow down system requirements to lower-level electrical designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with two to four years of experience.
- Comprehensive simulation skills in Cadence ADE and Spectre simulator, and Mentor Calibre LVS/DRC tools including PEX parasitic extraction, Monte Carlo, and Corner analysis.
- Detailed knowledge in standard analog cell design including bandgaps, op-amps, detectors, regulators, and precision current sources.
- Exposure to best analog layout practices in Cadence Virtuoso.
- Experience in the design and development of high precision mixed signal devices such as phase-locked loops, analog to digital converters, digital to analog converters, and/or digital logic elements.
- Ability to perform circuit simulation using SPICE or variants and system modeling and using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools.
- Significant recent experience with analog design, and exposure to digital design flow and concepts.
- Experience with circuit verification and optimization, layout floor-planning, and verification of parasitic extractions of the circuits.
- Proficiency performing chip-level analog, signal integrity and power integrity analysis.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to other design peers in verbal and written form.
- Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation.
- Familiarity with initial bring-up procedure as well as detailed characterization of test-chip on the lab-bench to validate the specification compliance.
