Job Description:
TSS is looking for a highly motivated Analog IC Design Engineer to join our semiconductor design team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, simulating, and verifying analog and mixed-signal circuits for next-generation integrated circuits. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-performance, and robust analog solutions from concept to silicon.
Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, and optimize analog building blocks such as amplifiers, bandgaps, ADCs/DACs, oscillators, and PLLs.
- Perform transistor-level design using advanced CMOS or other process technologies.
- Conduct pre- and post-layout circuit simulation, noise analysis, and corner verification.
- Work closely with layout engineers to ensure high-performance and area-efficient implementation.
- Participate in architecture definition and system-level tradeoff analysis.
- Support design reviews, documentation, and sign-off activities.
- Collaborate with digital and verification engineers to ensure chip integration and silicon validation.
- Debug and characterize silicon in the lab; assist in root-cause analysis and performance tuning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field (Master’s preferred for advanced design roles).
- Solid understanding of analog circuit fundamentals (MOSFET device physics, biasing, noise, matching, feedback, stability).
- Experience with transistor-level simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, HSPICE, etc.).
- Knowledge of layout techniques for analog circuits (matching, shielding, parasitic minimization).
- Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, SMUs) for silicon debug and validation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of mixed-signal design (ADCs, DACs, PLLs) is a plus.
- Scripting/programming (Python, Matlab, or Tcl) beneficial.
