Trusted Semiconductor Solutions has an immediate opening for an experienced Integrated Circuit Design Engineer.

Job Description:
An experienced Integrated Circuit Design Engineer will design and implement custom integrated ICs and IP building blocks based on design specifications. The designer will also perform SPICE simulations during circuit development and simulations of extracted netlists prior to tape-out. The designer will work closely with the physical design team, the package and test teams, and the quality assurance team to ensure the design will be manufacturable and reliable. The analog IC designer will engage in device characterization by identifying the test to be performed, conducting the tests utilizing state-of-the-are lab test equipment and evaluating results.
Additional duties include the evaluation of customer requirements, estimating effort/expenses for projects, development of test/characterization plans and datasheets, participation in debug and root cause analysis efforts, and engaging with the quality team to improve design processes/methodologies.
Essential Duties and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of industrial experiences with successful product launched.
- Reviewing and editing target specifications as required for completeness and feasibility.
- Significant industrial experience in both AMS and RF design.
- Proven experience working on system and architecture teams to drive block-level and IP requirements.
- Demonstrated deep understanding and prior experience in custom IC design for various analog and RF blocks and chips.
- Familiar with semiconductor technology basics.
- Proficient with all required design tools such as ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso etc.
- Contribute to specifications and project planning.
- Creating circuits and test benches to meet customer specifications.
- Experienced with PLL, DDR3/4 PHY, ADC, DAC, implemented in advanced CMOS technology (FinFET custom layout experience highly desirable).
- Low-speed, low-noise, high-precision analog circuit design experience a plus.
- Layout methods in advanced process nodes for analog circuits which includes optimization for parasitics, matching, and other critical non-idealities in an IC process.
- Physical design experience including custom circuit layout.
- Strong design experience using Cadence PDKs.
- Contribute to design and layout reviews.
- Laboratory experience in IC validation and characterization.
- Strong communications skills in both verbal and written formats.
- Self – starter, motivated and takes initiative and able to lead a small team.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Modern revision-control tools and best-practices in a collaborative, multi-site design community
- Proficiency with Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and Linux OS (EDA tools, scripting, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelors/master’s in electronic engineering/computer science or equivalent.
- 10+ years of direct industry experience with analog integrated circuit design.
- Preferred work on-site at our Minnesota offices.
- Strong design experience using Cadence PDKs.
- Physical design experience including custom circuit layout.
- Knowledge of OS Linux, scripting languages – e.g., Python, Shell, TCL.
- A self-starter with the ability to assume leadership roles.
- Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
- Experience with industry standard development tools and methodologies.
Target Annual Salary:
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $127,000-$187,000.
Location:
- Work at the TSS office in Brooklyn Park, MN is strongly preferred. Willing to consider remote work.
